This little lady joined Bonnie Blue Rescue today by way of Richmond Animal Care & Control in Richmond, VA.
Can you believe she’d been at the shelter for three weeks with no interest?!?
Though initially named “MooCow” at the shelter, we thought this stunning girl deserved a slight more sophisticated name – so she’s now called “Bouvier” (which we think sounds far more French-chic).
Bouvier came into the shelter as a new momma and as a stray – but she came in alone. She hung out in the shelter for several weeks, being passed over by other local rescues until our volunteers, Stacey & Renee, went to “evaluate” her. Where “evaluate” means “going to spring this dog from the shelter”. But can you blame them? It’s hard to say no to a girl with ears this cute!
Bouvier came home with Stacey and Renee today and will remain in foster care until she finds the perfect forever home. This girl is an absolute social butterfly. She is friendly and social, but will require an active family to help her burn her energy. Bouvier is a small girl weighing in at 42 lbs – and will likely not get any bigger. The vet thinks she’s close to one year old. Bouvier is working on housebreaking and crate-training. She is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, current of flea/tick/heartworm preventative and is microchipped. This little lady is ready to go, but is just looking for that perfect (active) forever home.
