Sweet Oreo is in DESPERATE NEED of a foster home in the Richmond, VA area.
Please help us keep this little one out of boarding.

Through no fault of her own, Oreo is being returned to rescue and unfortunately, we currently have zero open fosters. Oreo will be returned tomorrow afternoon and moved into boarding tomorrow evening if we cannot find a foster for her between now & then.

If you are interested in fostering Oreo, please contact us ASAP at bonniebluerescue@gmail.com. We will provide a crate, food, toys, bedding, chewies and all medical care for Oreo while she is in foster care. We only ask that our fosters provide a home with a lot of love.
Oreo is one of Lacey’s pups who as born into rescue on 3/2/10. We’ve loved this little lady since day one. While in rescue, her name was Marilyn. Oreo charmed lots of hearts early on, and we weren’t surprised when she was scooped up quickly. Unfortunately, the other pup in Oreo’shome has demonstrated aggressive behaviors lately, and Oreo’s mom decided that it would be best (and safest) for Oreo to come back to rescue.
Here’s what Oreo’s mom says about her, “Oreo is a Catahoula Leopard Dog mixed with Lab.  Her energy level is more along the lines of a Catahoula.  She is high energy, and loves to go for long walks or running around in the yard!  She is very loyal.  I can take her out without a leash and she doesn’t stray far.  If she is getting too far for my comfort level, I simply call her and she comes running full force to close the distance.  I don’t take her out without a leash all of the time, just usually when I first get home. She greets everyone who enters our house with a kiss and a wagging tail.  She doesn’t bark at family and friends when they come over, but when you take her out to potty, if she hears something or someone outside, she will stand at attention and will even bark sometimes, depending on the situation.  She’s a very loving dog, does well around older children (my daughter is 11), and loves to be the center of attention.  She loves to cuddle on the couch, and will lay right up against you if you’re watching tv.  My daughter will lay with her on the floor, and “give her hugs.” Oreo loves to go for car rides, and see new places.  She is a bit shy and if you are new to her, she won’t come to you immediately.  It takes her a bit to warm up.  She loves to play and will play with her toys by herself, throwing them in the air and running after them! She is crate trained and housebroken. She is quick to do her business outside and she eats 2 times a day.  Once at around 6:15am and again at around 5:15pm.  She gets 1 1/2 cups of food for each feeding (3 cups total a day). She has been boarded once.  This was during the summer when I went on vacation.  She did very well at the kennel that I took her to.  She was also well-socialized during this time and enjoyed play time with the other dogs there. Oreo sleeps in the bed with me.  She is allowed on the couch at our house.  She knows how to sit which we do verbally and also with a hand signal.  She is learning how to shake.  She understands the command “go pen” and will go in to the pen willingly.  She really is a good dog.  She loves Kongs and Nylabones. “

Again, if you are interested in fostering please email us ASAP at bonniebluerescue@gmail.com.
