transport by the numbers.

by

I heard of another transport coordinator this morning doing a 1400 mile transport and I thought to myself, “holy cow that’s a long run! how on earth does she do it?!”.

Then I googled our transport to see what our distance was.

1296.93 miles.

That’s right. 1296.93 miles. Goodness!

I thought a transport by the numbers post was due.

This weekend we have:

7  foster homes sending

8 pups heading out on transport (3 pups heading to foster homes & 5 pups heading to “foster-to-adopt” homes)

7 overnights scheduled

22 legs of the transport route &

28 individual drivers driving pups this weekend (some driving more than one leg).

Something about those numbers just rocked me. Truly.

It reminded me of this quote from Margaret Mead, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

It doesn’t always feel like it – but we are all changing the world one pup, one transport leg and one weekend at a time.

Keep it up, friends!
