Mocha needs heartworm treatment!

by

Sweet Mocha girl was saved just in the nick of time from a high kill shelter in West Monroe, LA thanks to our friends at PAWS NELA and their shelter-rescue program. PAWS helps BBR rescue pups from the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter by pulling them, having them vetted at their local vet, and then placing them in short term fosters until transport can be arranged.

Mocha has been loving life in foster care. She is a sweet, happy, easy going girl who enjoys snuggling on the bed, napping, and hanging out with her foster family.

Unfortunately, instead of moving straight to a foster family and being put up for adoption immediately, sweet Mocha has to go through heartworm treatment first. Despite being very young, she is very high heartworm positive. We typically put younger pups through slow heartworm treatment as it is easier on them … but in Mocha’s case, rapid kill treatment was the very best option to make sure that no further damage was done to her heart.

Mocha has a foster mom in Alabama all lined up for heartworm treatment — she just needs help raising the funds to cover it! With our rescue discount, Mocha’s heartworm treatment and followup filter test will cost $300.

Would you be willing to chipin a dollar or two to help us pay for Mocha’s much needed heartworm treatment?

Donations of any amount are greatly welcomed and can be made by ChipIn here: http://bonniebluerescue.chipin.com/mochas-heartworm-treatment

OR  via snail mail (email us at bonniebluerescue@gmail.com for our mailing address!)

Thank you so much for your continued support of our rescue efforts. Without amazing volunteers, sponsors and supporters we would not be able to continue to rescue special needs pups like Mocha!
