168 (& welcome 2012!)

January 11, 2012

With the help of our shelter-rescue partners, short-term fosters, long-term fosters, transporters, crossposters, supporters and friends ….

2011 was an absolutely awesome year for Bonnie Blue Rescue!

But before I share our AWESOME NEWS with you …. let’s take a look back!

In 2009, Bonnie Blue Rescue had 5 foster homes and rescued 52 dogs.

In 2010, Bonnie Blue Rescue had 14 foster homes and rescued 93 dogs.

And 2011? 2011 was an even more amazing year than that!

In 2011, Bonnie Blue Rescue utilized 32 foster homes and rescued 168 dogs!

Even cooler than that? Of those 168, 36 were special needs pups –

5 came from a cruelty case in Mobile, AL

6 required major surgery while in the care of Bonnie Blue Rescue

22 were heartworm positive & went through heartworm treatment

15 were super seniors.

I am so very proud to be a part of the Bonnie Blue Rescue crew. I am proud to be a part of an organization who helps all pups regardless of breed, age, disability or special needs status. Who goes above and beyond to save the pups that other rescues walk away from, or ignore. And I am so, so proud of the incredible volunteers who work tirelessly to continue to support our small organization with your volunteer hours, crossposting help, networking assistance, donations, love and support.

From the bottom of my heart — THANK YOU — rescue would not be possible without you.

We cannot wait to see what is in store for 2012!

Charlie love.

January 10, 2011

Can you believe this cute little monkey is still looking for a forever home?

We’ve learned a few more things about Charlie since he’s joined us in foster care ….

1) Charlie LOVES to explore. Walks are his favorite thing, he gets so excited when he sees the leash that he jumps up and down like he’s on a pogo-stick.

2) Charlie LOVES car rides. He’s always eager to go somewhere and is an excellent car rider.

3.  Charlie LOVES to play, play, play. He’s been a hit the last few days at our favorite Richmond doggie daycare Diamond Dog House!  (Charlie also recommends checking it out if you’re local & haven’t been before)

Did you know what all three of his favorite things have in common? LOVE. Charlie LOVES everyone and everything. He is a grayish, white little ball of LOVE and has so much LOVE to give. Do you have room in your heart and home for this little man? If so, read on!

Charlie’s Details: Charlie is a 2 1/2 year old Yorkie-Poo (Yorkie/Poodle cross). He’s is approximately 15-18 lbs, housebroken & cratetrained. Charlie adores other dogs, cats, kids, and people of any shape & size. He is a happy-go-lucky guy who is sweet and eager to please. Charlie would prefer an active family that would play with him, take him to daycare, to the park to play, or on lots of walks to help get his wiggles out each day.
