Panda Pup

January 31, 2013

Panda pup says hi!

This cutie has looks and personality…all he needs now is a loving forever home!!

Panda sit

Panda was brought into a high kill pound in Louisiana as a stray.  No owners came to claim him and his time soon ran out at the busy shelter.  Thankfully a LA group that works with Bonnie Blue Rescue was able to rescue Panda and he is now safe and thriving in foster care.

Panda sit2

Panda is approximately 1 year old and fully grown at 40#.
We think he is a border collie mix – he is uber smart and willing to please.
Panda silly
Panda is nervous of some men at first but warms up to them if they go slow with introductions and let him know they are one of the good guys.
We don’t think little Panda was treated very kindly in his past but his foster mom is working extra hard to show him that his future brings good things!

Panda foster

Panda is good with kids, cats and other dogs.
He is a medium energy dog and loves going for walks.  He also enjoys cars rides and cuddling!

Panda is quickly learning about potty training and is doing well.  We expect a bright future for handsome Panda and would love for him to start 2013 off with his forever family…he certainly deserves it!

Short Term Foster Needed — Commerce, GA Area!

SHORT TERM FOSTER NEEDED – COMMERCE, GA AREA
Photo: SHORT TERM FOSTER NEEDED - COMMERCE, GA area (3 weeks) Do we have any rescue friends in/around Commerce, GA area who would be willing to short-term foster (3 weeks) two darling 6-week old catahoula leopard babies for us? They were on their way to be surrendered to the shelter but a local rescuer intervened & took the two babies home with her. Their dad was euthanized immediately at the shelter (owner surrender in a crowded rural shelter close to the holidays - no chance of making it out alive :/) & we don't know what happened to their mom; but what we do know is that these two babies can have a wonderful life if we can get them into our Bonnie Blue Rescue foster care program.

Foster Homes Needed!

FOSTER HOMES NEEDED

These sweeties are heading north to rescue next weekend & need foster families!

Please email us at bonniebluerescue@gmail.com if you are interested in fostering {or adopting} one of these sweeties!

What does fostering entail? Fostering means that you bring a rescued pup into your home and love them like your own until their forever families come along. Most fosters are short-term foster commitments (typically 4 weeks or less).

What is provided? Bonnie Blue Rescue provides crate, toys, chewies, collar, leash, harness, ID, tag, and covers all pre-approved medical bills/vetting, heartworm and flea/tick preventative. We just ask that our fosters provide food & love {and if needed, we can even cover the food!}

Where do I have to live to foster? Anywhere! We currently have fosters in Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, Washington, DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Connecticut & Maine!

Meet The Kardashians {no, not THOSE Kardashians}

October 4, 2012

These three gorgeous girls were rescued from a dumpster site by our awesome rescue friend, Jen!

We agreed to take them in to our Bonnie Blue Rescue foster care program & to help them find amazing homes.

These cute girls have spent the last few weeks getting the hang of being indoor dogs — and they love it! They are learning all about cratetraining and housebreaking. They are each great with other dogs, cats, and have even been exposed to horses & cattle.

The vet thinks they are definitely littermates and are right around 1 year old. We think they are Catahoula Leopard Dog/Terrier mixes (best guess!). This means these cuties are full grown at 25-30 lbs. The perfect size for any family!

3.5 Weeks Update: Momma Blue Violet & the Crayola Pups

October 2, 2012

Disclaimer: There is an awful lot of cuteness in this blog post. Consider yourself warned!

Huge thanks to Lara at www.alittlebirdfoto.com for this adorable pictures of Momma Blue & the Crayola Pups! If you live in CT (or nearby) – look Lara up & consider having her come and do portraits of your pups!

It’s hard to believe that our babies are growing up so quickly! While they still nurse, they have also started on puppy mush — and they LOVE to eat, eat, eat!

Momma Maia & The Greek Pups — SPONSORS NEEDED!

September 24, 2012

Update: Only two partial sponsorships ($25 each) left for Zeus!

When we last saw Momma Maia (f/k/a Duchess) & her puppies they looked like this:

Now these sweet little pups are 4 weeks old.

The babies are busy little bees and look more like this:

What a difference two weeks makes!

We feel so thankful that we were able to work together with the awesome shelter director to get this sweet family out of the shelter and into a short-term foster home! Babies should never grow up in shelters!

Thanks to the generosity of two amazing short-term foster mommas these cuties are SAFE

& this darling family will be moving north to rescue in just a few short weeks!

As many of you know, we try to give each new litter a theme. One of our awesome BBR supporters dubbed this sweet momma, Maia (pronounced Maya), after the Maia in Greek Mythology who was Hermes’ mother. With this in mind – this cute litter will be “The Greek Pups” named after Greek gods & goddesses.

Puppy sponsors needed!

To help our rescue offset some of the costs associated with the vetting and care for a litter of cuties (& we have three litters in rescue right now – oh my!), we are looking for puppy sponsors! There are two different sponsorship options available.

Full Sponsorship: Full sponsorship is $100 per pup. Sponsors will get to name their pup from the Greek gods/goddesses list (we’ll email it to you!), will receive a minimum of three updates while their sponsor pup is in foster care, and will receive a happily-ever-after photo and update once their sponsor pup is adopted & a Bonnie Blue Rescue bumper sticker!

Partial Sponsorship: Partial sponsorship is $25 per pup. These sponsors will receive one update while their sponsor pup is in foster care and will receive a happily-ever-after photo and update once their sponsor pup is adopted!

**Please note that there is the option for 1 full sponsor OR 4 partial sponsors for each pup!**

If you are interested in sponsoring of these pups, please email us at bonniebluerescue@gmail.com and indicate your preferred sponsorship level. We will update this blog post as individual pups are sponsored {& named}.

Snoops

September 21, 2012

**Happy Update: Snoops has a retirement home lined up in MD & will be moving there next weekend. HUGE THANK YOU’S to each of you who shared his story. He is going to get to live out the rest of his days totally loved & totally adored. Thanks for helping make that possible! **

This is Snoops.

He is an ~15-year old Shih-tzu boy who was dumped by his owners at a super high-kill shelter in Georgia.

Reason for dropping him off? “He’s old”.

Jerks!

Snoops is actually in great health for a 15-year old pup.

He is happy and sweet. Snoops is a super easy keeper. He loves to snuggle, nap, and eat!

Snoops is looking for a Bonnie Blue Rescue Retirement Home!

What does it mean to be a BBR retirement home? What’s involved? We are just looking for a family with a ton of love to give. A family who realizes that this super sweet senior boy still has so much love and goodness to share. You share the love; we pick up his medical bills. Yup! Bonnie Blue Rescue will cover Snoops’ medical bills for the remainder of his life if he is in a BBR Retirement Home. We realize that a 15-year old Shih-tzu boy probably isn’t the most adoptable … but we also know that he does not deserve to die in a shelter.

Is there anyone out there who would be willing to open their hearts and homes to our old man?

Email us at bonniebluerescue@gmail.com.
